Fun Fall Events this October

Autumn has officially arrived! Exciting events are taking place throughout Los Angeles County as the cool weather sets in. There are numerous activities happening all around. From pumpkin patches and corn mazes to art festivals and outdoor concerts, there's something for everyone to enjoy. Families can spend the weekends picking apples and sipping on warm cider at local orchards, while thrill-seekers might find themselves braving the haunted houses and spooky trails scattered across the county. No matter your interests, Los Angeles County offers an abundance of opportunities to embrace the spirit of autumn and create cherished memories with friends and family. So grab your scarves and jackets, and get ready to explore all that this beautiful season has to offer!


LA’s Haunted Hayride at Griffith Park | 7:00 PM-10:30PM | Now- 11/2/24

Experience the Los Angeles Haunted Hayride at Griffith Park with Janelle Monáe’s Monáe Manor, a vibrant Halloween party filled with unexpected ghostly encounters. Guests can take a thrilling hayride through Midnight Falls, where a witch’s curse brings vengeful spirits to life, along with eerie trick-or-treating adventures. Additional attractions include live shows, Zombie Splat Gellyball experience, axe throwing, and interactive mini escape games.


Hello Kitty Halloween Market | 12:00PM-5:00PM | 10.19.24

We’re celebrating Halloween with Hello Kitty and @the714market at LBX! Browse multiple creative makers and vendors, meet Hello Kitty, enjoy live music and entertainment, do a fun activity or get your face painted. Grab a bite and a brew from one of LBX’s Restaurants and Hangar Eateries. This community event is free to attend. Pets welcome!


Howl-o-ween Festival | 2:00PM- 6:00PM | 10/19/24

Join us at the boo-tiful El Dorado Nature Center for a hare-raising good time as you trick-or-treat your way along the trails. Visit our animal education village or bounce yourself silly in the Ooh-possum Patch. There will be storytelling and face painting, food trucks and crafts. Parking is free, and a suggested donation of $5 per person to support Partners of Parks/ Friends of El Dorado Nature Center at the gate. Dress as your favorite creature and come mingle with ours. See you there!

Long Beach Zombie Walk | 4:00PM-10:00PM | 10/19/24

Dressed in their most terrifying zombie costumes, participants take to the streets of Shoreline Village, creating a parade of the undead. Dance the night away with live music after the walk. Activities for kids include, DJ, yard games, Halloween jumper, face painting, and balloon twister. Take part in the costume contest or pie-eating contest. This is a free community event and no tickets are required. Kids activities will be happening from 4PM-7PM in the kids area. Please note, this event will be scary with costumes and people surprising/scaring others. Please do not bring infants or dogs that can get scared.

Family Camp Monte Verde Park | 1:00PM-12:00PM | 10/19/24

Parents and their children ages 3-11 can enjoy an outdoor experience together and spend a night out under the stars at Monte Verde Park. Activities include games, crafts, nature walks, roasting marshmallows and singing around the campfire. All meals and snacks are prepared so parents can sit back, relax and enjoy nature with their children. Camp begins on Saturday, Oct. 19 at 1 p.m. and ends at noon on Sunday, Oct. 20. Pets, barbecues and alcoholic beverages are prohibited. The registration fee for this fun family outing is $10 per person. In addition, a $20 per-person supply fee for meals is due to the instructor at camp. Dia de los Muertos Festival | 11:00AM- 5:00PM | 10/27/24

It’s that time again! MOLAA is gearing up for its annual Day of the Dead free family festival set for Sunday October 27! Inspired by the breathtaking return of the Monarch Butterflies to Mexico each year, this year’s theme is Journey of our Ancestors; an homage to the long-held belief by indigenous communities such as the Purépecha, as well as the Mazahua, that the Monarchs represent the returning souls of our ancestors.


Trick-or-Treat on 2nd St | 4:00PM- 6:00PM | 10/31/24

Come Trick or Treating on 2nd Street for this long-standing tradition. Halloween just isn’t the same without it. Look for our JACK-O-LANTERN SIGNs in the windows for participating businesses that will be handing out treats. Strike a pose at our photo booth, with complimentary photos. Dance to a live performance by The Thingz and enter our Instagram Photo Contest!
