Tiki Town

Planning a night out on the town? Well, consider Tiki Town! Is there anything more entertaining, more interesting, and more flat out fun than, perhaps a drink in a coconut? Long Beach Tiki Bars are making a comeback across the city and we’ve highlighted four places with ambience that will transport you to paradise, and where you can enjoy great, unique dishes and all the traditional Don The Beachcomber drinks.

Secret Island

209 Pine Ave, Long Beach, CA

Take a trip to the south seas with a craft cocktail in hand, and experience the culture of their own Secret Island. Come see this immersive experience as you descend a flight of stairs under Pine Ave and are greeted by "Bamboo" Ben Bassham interior design and a very long bar.

It's a mysterious grotto where fine food and liquid libations merge with the sounds of the islands to create an atmosphere of contentment. Here, you will find the usuals; the tropical drinks and eats, and live entertainment. Bands perform regularly and sometimes with hula dancers!

The Bamboo Club

3522 E Anaheim st, Long Beach, CA

Located in the historic Zaferia District of Long Beach, The Bamboo Club will transport you to an alternate time and place. Their atmosphere reflects the laid-back sensibilities of Tiki culture featuring all the requisite tiki torches - thatched-roof booths and bar, colorful fauna, and plenty of Polynesian-inspired statuary and wall art, designed by the award-winning Bamboo Ben Bassham.

They have a large adjoining outdoor area, ideal for big parties. Drinks range from Blue, Mai Tais to updated creations. They also are dishing out top-notch dishes such as Loco-moco and Thai Tea Brined Chicken Sandwich.

Marie’s Tek Tec

1115 E Wardlow rd Long Beach, CA

Marie's is tiki bar like many others, with the usual assortment of Polynesian decorations and rum selection, but what distinguishes them is their homage to Latin culture. You can see these nods to Latin American art and historical culture in everything from their logo to their foods and drinks, all with a latin flare.

Tiki Tiki at Rosemallows

255 Long Beach blvd, Long Beach, CA

Part of the fun at TIki Tiki is simply finding it. So, word to the wise, you'll first have to go through Rosemallows, which is easy. The only way you can actually get into this secret bar is by pushing on a specific part of a blank wall after you walk the length of the bar in Rosemallows (the bartender might know.)

You'll enter a charming, smoke-filled room with the usual tiki decor, serving excellent tiki drinks like the Painkiller, Zombie, and classic Mai Tai. It's curated cocktail menu is exceptional as its food selection.
